- Other major parts of the religious right wing
Other important parts of the religious right wing include the Mormon churches (especially the main one, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) and the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church (although many lay Catholics, and even many rank-and-file priests, do not support the religious right wing). Both the Mormon churches and the Roman Catholic Church, especially the Mormons, have long been a major source of money for religious right wing causes. And the Roman Catholic Church has long been a major source of the religious right wing's brains, e.g. the more conservative Supreme Court justices.
The involvement of both the Roman Catholic hierarchy and the Mormons in religious right wing causes has been well-known for a long time - although they still, sometimes, try to hide it. (See Mormon church wanted ‘plausible deniability’ on anti-gay effort by Daniel Tencer, Raw Story, Wednesday, January 20th, 2010, and The Mormon Hierarchy's "Plausible Deniability" by Andrew Sullivan, The Atlantic, 21 Jan 2010.) Because their involvement has long been very well-known, we will not bother to provide lists of links about them here, unless we come across some especially good and well-organized sources of information.
In a few parts of the country, notably New York City, another important part of the religious right wing has been the ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities. This too has been well-covered in the local New York City media. (Google "Lubavitcher abortion," "Lubavitcher gay," and "Noach Dear gay," for example.) But the majority of Jews, of other kinds, do not support the religious right wing.
